Schools

Most of the neighborhood villages are planned to have an elementary school within walking or biking distance for many of the children.  Nocatee has reserved land for six elementary schools, two middle schools and one high schoo.  These school sites will be donated to the County School District as needed.

Almost two-thirds of the land within Nocatee will be dedicated to preservation and conservation of the natural environment, creating a beautiful coastal haven for people and wildlefe alike.  The Nocatee Greenway and the Nocatee Preserve will provide peaceful wildlife habitats and offer eco-friendly recreational opportunities to the residents of Nocatee and the surrounding areas.

Parks and Recreation

A distinctive system of more than 300 acres of parks will be a cornerstone of Nocatee.  Each village will have its own community park and every home in Nocatee will be within easy walking distance to a neighborhood park.  An extraordinary 75-acre park will be constructed druing the first phase of development and will include an exciting water park, YMCA community center and many ball fields and athletic facilities.

In addition to the Nocatee park system, residents will be able to enjoy unique recreational opportunities such as hiking, canoeing and kayaking in the Nocatee Greenway and Nocatee Preserve.

Roadways and Access

New roads providing access to the first communitities withing Nocatee will be completed and open to the public during the first few months of 2007.  Construction of the new Nocatee Parkway from the Intercoastal Waterway to US1 is expected to be completed by late 2007.
